Research Interests
Ms. Morrell's research focuses on religious history in the rural mountain South. More broadly, she is interested in histories of race, gender, and labor bent through the prism of religious history and a settler colonial analytic framework. She is currently working on projects that link histories of religion and meaning making to settler colonialism, enslavement, agricultural history, and Protestant missionary work in the Early Republic.
