Research Interests
Ms. Williams is interested in Appalachia during the Cold War. Specifically, she explores how emergency management plans were designed, who designed them, and who they included or excluded. In relation to this study, she is interested in exploring class, race, and gender in Appalachia during the mid-twentieth century. Other components of her research include the impact of the military industrial complex on Appalachia and what the aftermath of it was in the region.
During the 2021-2022 school year, Ms. Williams interned with the Historian's Office at the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she worked as a Research Scholar.
