Program Requirements:
1. Completion of a minimum of 36 hours of course work with at least a GPA of 3.00. This will include 6 hours of internship. No more than 12 hours can be taken at the 400 level.
2. 15 hours of History content classes including completion of at least one readings/seminar sequence in the History Department at the 700 level. 6 hours may be taken in another discipline with the approval of the Public History director.
3. 15 hours of Public History courses listed below or courses approved by the Public History director

History 489 – Preservation
History 600 – Cultural Resource Management
History 610 – Historic Site and Preservation
History 611 – Archival Management
History 612 – Practicum Historical Editing
History 613 – Local History Research Methodology
History 615 – Museum Studies
History 616 – History of American Architecture
History 619 – Understanding Preservation Law
4. 6 hours of internship, History 614 (3 hours of CRM internship, History 620
may be applied to internship hours)
